Services and Features Offered at Harmony Houses

Harmony Houses provide around-the-clock support and care to our Residents. Our trained staff assists with everything from administering medications to providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, cooking and cleaning. Perhaps most importantly, in order to foster our home-like setting, residents are encouraged to become involved in these activities as much as they are able.

Each resident enjoys personalized service, including:

• 24 hour on-site care and supervision by trained caregivers
• Nurses are scheduled daily
• A Registered Nurse is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Regular visits by the Registered Nurse, generally on a weekly basis and as deemed necessary
• Unit Dose Medication system
• Medication Management/Administration
• Three nutritious, home cooked meals a day as well as snacks and refreshments
• Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, transferring, and eating, based on an evaluation of individual needs
• Full use of the home's spacious living and dining rooms
• Comfortable bedrooms which include a bed and dresser, and may be personalized by each resident
• A full array of household services including cleaning, laundry and ironing; all towels and bed linens are provided
• Personal care items including; shampoo, soaps and oral care products
• Personalized help with hair and nail care and daily grooming
• All utilities included (heat, electrical, central air conditioning, water, sewer, and trash collection)
• Medical transportation and appointment coordination
• Social and recreational activities adapted to individual likes and dislikes, including special facility outings on the Harmony House bus
• Religious Services and bible study available
• Volunteer Services - to provide emotional support, companionship, and help assist with day-to-day activities

Optional Services:

• Monthly visits by Dr. David Anderholm, Geriatric Psychiatrist. Dr. Anderholm is a Graduate of the Mayo School of Medicine in Psychiatry and is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
